On 1st July 2019 the second period of the final safeguard measure implemented by the EC concerning the metal products import to EU countries had started.

On state of 12th August 2019 (11.75% of the covered period) the most consumed individual tariff quota is in category 13 (rebars) – the application level is 35.94%. The least consuming is in category 19 (railway materials), 3.60%. More detailed http://www.ukrmetprom.org/tariff-quota-usage-ukrainian-steel-products-import-eu-daily-monitoring-15-07-2019/

For categories in which Ukraine is a participant of the global tariff quota, on state of 12th August 2019 (46.74% of the covered quarter), 33.78% had been consumed in category 1 (non-alloy and other alloy hot rolled sheets and strips). The quota in category 20 (gas pipes) is fully exhausted. More detailed http://www.ukrmetprom.org/tariff-quota-usage-ukrainian-steel-products-import-eu-daily-monitoring-15-07-2019/

At the same time, in each of 12 categories in which Ukraine possesses individual tariff quotas, there are from 2 to 6 other countries that have their own individual tariff quotas and that have an opportunity during the final quarter of the second period to consume remnants of global tariff quotas of respective categories.

The general picture is shown in tables 1-12:

Association UKRMETALURGPROM continues to monitor and analyze the situation with tariff quotas implemented by the EC as a safeguard measure against the metal products import to the EU.
