The Results of the Mining & Metallurgical Complex of Ukraine Activity for 3 months 2020
In Jan-March 2020, mining and steelmaking enterprises of Ukraine produced:
- Iron Ore Concentrate – 16.11 Mt (103.2% to Jan-March 2019);
- Agglomerate – 7.86 Mt (99.6%);
- Pellets – 5.09 Mt (93.3%);
- Coke – 2.44 Mt (93.5%);
- Pig Iron – 5.10 Mt (97.8%);
- Steel – 5.32 Mt (96.6%);
- Finished Products – 4.62 Mt (101.8%);
- Pipes&Tubes – 211,7 Kt (74.6%).
As of 15 April 2020, the following main production facilities are in operation: 14 of 21 Blast Furnaces, 4 of 8 OHFs, 11 of 16 BOFs, 5 of 15 EAFs and 15 of 16 concast machines.

The Provision of Enterprises with Main Raw and Energy Resources
Iron Ore Raw Materials (IORM)
In Jan-March 2020, enterprises were supplied with 7.2 Mt of IORM (101% to the same period of 2019).
The IORM export in Jan-March 2020 was around 11.2 Mt (118% to Jan-March 2019).
Coking Coals
For 3 months 2020, Ukrainian coking plants received 3.07 Mt of coking coals (86% to the same period of 2019), of which:
- 07 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (164% to Jan-March 2019);
- 0 Mt of imported (69% to the same period of 2019).
The import share in the total coking coals delivery in Jan-March 2020 is 65.1% against 80.0% in Jan-March 2019.
The Metallurgical Coke
The total coke delivery to steelmaking enterprises in Jan-March 2020 is 2.05 Mt (87% to Jan-March 2019), all is of the Ukrainian origin.
The import share in the total coke delivery in Jan-March 2020 is 0% against 7.0% in Jan-March 2019.
The Bought Steel Scrap
For 3 months 2020, 691 Kt of steel scrap (105% to Jan-March 2019) were collected, of which 670 Kt had been delivered to the Ukrainian consumers. It was exported 11 Kt of steel scrap in Jan-March 2020 (58 to the same period of 2019).

The Natural Gas and Electricity
In Jan-March 2020, the national steelmaking industry had consumed up to 460 million cubic meters of the natural gas (100% to Jan-March 2019).
The electricity consuming by Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises in Jan-March 2020 is up to 2.75 billion kWh (94% to Jan-March 2019).
