According to UKRMETALURGPROM data, in Jan-Apr 2021, steelmaking enterprises of Ukraine produced:

• Agglomerate – 11.04 Mt (107.0% to Jan-Apr 2020);
• Coke – 3.25 Mt (101.1%);
• Pig Iron – 7.07 Mt (109.0%);
• Steel – 7.14 Mt (107.2%);
• Finished Products – 6.39 Mt (107.0%);
• Pipes&Tubes – 0.29 Mt (105.2%).

As of 13 May 2021, the following main production facilities are in operation: 17 of 21 Blast Furnaces, 7 of 8 OHFs, 12 of 16 BOFs, 5 of 15 EAFs and 15 of 17 concast machines.

 The Provision of Enterprises with Main Raw and Energy Resources

 Iron Ore Raw Materials (IORM)

The provision of steelmaking enterprises with IORM in Jan-Apr 2021 was on the level matching the steelmakers’ demands. There was no import of IORM within this period.

The IORM export in Jan-Apr 2021 was around 14.21 Mt (92.0% to the same period of 2020).

 Coking Coals

In Jan-Apr 2021, Ukrainian coking plants received 4.40 Mt of coking coals (101.4% to the same period of 2020), of which:

• 27 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (100.3% to Jan-Apr 2020);
• 13 Mt of imported (101.9% to Jan-Apr 2020).

The import share in the total coking coals delivery in Jan-Apr 2021 is 71.0% against 70.7% in Jan-Apr 2020.

The Metallurgical Coke

The total coke delivery to steelmaking enterprises in Jan-Apr 2021 is 2.725 Mt (101.3% to Jan-Apr 2020), of which:

• 683 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (100.3% to Jan-Apr 2020);
• 042 Mt of imported (280% to Jan-Apr 2020).

The import share in the total coke delivery in Jan-Apr 2021 is 1.54% against 0.56% in Jan-Apr 2020.

The Bought Steel Scrap

In Jan-Apr 2021, 1187 Kt of steel scrap (130.1% to Jan-Apr 2020) were collected, of which 81100 Kt (122.1% to Jan-Apr 2020) had been delivered to the Ukrainian consumers. It was exported 87 Kt of steel scrap in Jan-Apr 2021 (750% to Jan-Apr 2020).

The Natural Gas and Electricity

In Jan-Apr 2021, the national steelmaking industry had consumed up to 650 million cubic meters of the natural gas (108.3% to the same period of 2020).

The electricity consuming by Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises in Jan-Apr 2021 is up to 3.76 billion kWh (103.9% to Jan-Apr 2020).
