According to UKRMETALURGPROM data, in Jan-Nov 2021, steelmaking enterprises of Ukraine produced:

• Agglomerate – 30.34 Mt (104.7% to Jan-Nov 2020);
• Coke – 8.73 Mt (99.0%);
• Pig Iron – 19.44 Mt (104.5%);
• Steel – 19.62 Mt (104.9%);
• Finished Products – 17.55 Mt (105.0%);
• Pipes&Tubes – 0.91 Mt (115.7%).

As of 14 December 2021, the following main production facilities are in operation: 15 of 21 Blast Furnaces, 7 of 8 OHFs, 10 of 16 BOFs, 5 of 15 EAFs and 14 of 17 concast machines.

The Provision of Enterprises with Main Raw and Energy Resources

Iron Ore Raw Materials (IORM)

The provision of steelmaking enterprises with IORM in Jan-Nov 2021 was on the level matching the steelmakers’ demands. There was no import of IORM within this period.

The IORM export in Jan-Nov 2021 was around 40.67 Mt (97.2% to the same period of 2020).

Coking Coals

In Jan-Nov 2021, Ukrainian coking plants received 11.83 Mt of coking coals (97.4% to the same period of 2020), of which:

• 3 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (100.2% to Jan-Nov 2020);
• 51 Mt of imported (96.5% to Jan-Nov 2020).

The import share in the total coking coals delivery in Jan-Nov 2021 is 71.9% against 72.7% in Jan-Nov 2020.

The Metallurgical Coke

The total coke delivery to steelmaking enterprises in Jan-Nov 2021 is 7.670 Mt (103.0% to Jan-Nov 2020), of which:

• 166 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (97.9% to Jan-Nov 2020);
• 504 Mt of imported (409.8% to Jan-Nov 2020).

The import share in the total coke delivery in Jan-Nov 2021 is 6.57% against 1.65% in Jan-Nov 2020.

The Bought Steel Scrap

In Jan-Nov 2021, 3535 Kt of steel scrap (134,1% to Jan-Nov 2020) were collected, of which 2987 Kt (114,7% to Jan-Nov 2020) had been delivered to the Ukrainian consumers. It was exported 548 Kt of steel scrap in Jan-Nov 2021 (1661% to Jan-Nov 2020).

The Natural Gas and Electricity

In Jan-Nov 2021, the national steelmaking industry had consumed up to 1.72 billion cubic meters of the natural gas (100.9% to the same period of 2020).

The electricity consuming by Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises in Jan-Nov 2021 is up to 10.45 billion kWh (103.6% to Jan-Nov 2020).
