According to UKRMETALURGPROM data, in Jan-Oct 2021, steelmaking enterprises of Ukraine produced:

• Agglomerate – 27.88 Mt (106.1% to Jan-Oct 2020);
• Coke – 8.00 Mt (101.0%);
• Pig Iron – 17.72 Mt (105.0%);
• Steel – 17.90 Mt (105.5%);
• Finished Products – 15.99 Mt (105.4%);
• Pipes&Tubes – 0. Mt (118.6%).

As of 12 October 2021, the following main production facilities are in operation: 18 of 21 Blast Furnaces, 7 of 8 OHFs, 12 of 16 BOFs, 5 of 15 EAFs and 16 of 17 concast machines.

 The Provision of Enterprises with Main Raw and Energy Resources

 Iron Ore Raw Materials (IORM)

The provision of steelmaking enterprises with IORM in Jan-Oct 2021 was on the level matching the steelmakers’ demands. There was no import of IORM within this period.

The IORM export in Jan-Oct 2021 was around 36.71 Mt (95.4% to the same period of 2020).

 Coking Coals

In Jan-Oct 2021, Ukrainian coking plants received 10.66 Mt of coking coals (97.7% to the same period of 2020), of which:

• 3.00 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (102.4% to Jan-Oct 2020);
• 7.66 Mt of imported (96.0% to Jan-Oct 2020).

The import share in the total coking coals delivery in Jan-Oct 2021 is 71.8% against 73.2% in Jan-Oct 2020.

The Metallurgical Coke

The total coke delivery to steelmaking enterprises in Jan-Oct 2021 is 6.975 Mt (103.6% to Jan-Oct 2020), of which:

• 6.565 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (98.3% to Jan-Oct 2020);
• 0.410 Mt of imported (455.6% to Jan-Oct 2020).

The import share in the total coke delivery in Jan-Oct 2021 is 5.88% against 1.34% in Jan-Oct 2020.

The Bought Steel Scrap

In Jan-Oct 2021, 3215 Kt of steel scrap (135,4% to Jan-Oct 2020) were collected, of which 2711 Kt (115,9% to Jan-Oct 2020) had been delivered to the Ukrainian consumers. It was exported 504 Kt of steel scrap in Jan-Oct 2021 (1575% to Jan-Oct 2020).

 The Natural Gas and Electricity

In Jan-Oct 2021, the national steelmaking industry had consumed up to 1.59 billion cubic meters of the natural gas (102.9% to the same period of 2020).

The electricity consuming by Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises in Jan-Oct 2021 is up to 9.50 billion kWh (104.4% to Jan-Oct 2020).
