The Results of the Mining & Metallurgical Complex of Ukraine Activity in January 2020
In January 2020, mining and steelmaking enterprises of Ukraine produced:
- Iron Ore Concentrate – 5.46 Mt (103.4% to January 2019);
- Agglomerate – 2.65 Mt (97.0%);
- Pellets – 1.77 Mt (93.6%);
- Coke – 0.83 Mt (92.3%);
- Pig Iron – 1.73 Mt (96.7%);
- Steel – 1.84 Mt (99.6%);
- Finished Products – 1.68 Mt (107.3%);
- Pipes&Tubes – 65.8 Kt (76.1%).
As of 12 February 2020, the following main production facilities are in operation: 16 of 21 Blast Furnaces, 8 of 9 OHFs, 11 of 16 BOFs, 6 of 15 EAFs and 15 of 15 concast machines.

The Provision of Enterprises with Main Raw and Energy Resources
Iron Ore Raw Materials (IORM)
In January 2020, enterprises were supplied with 2.0 Mt of IORM (81% to Jan 2019).
The IORM export in Jan 2020 was around 3.96 Mt (120% to Jan 2019).
Coking Coals
In Jan 2020, Ukrainian coking plants received 1.03 Mt of coking coals (82% to Jan 2019), of which:
- 37 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (143% to Jan 2019);
- 66 of imported (66% to Jan 2019).
The import share in the total coking coals delivery in Jan 2020 is 64.1% against 80.0% in Jan 2019.
The Metallurgical Coke
The total coke delivery to steelmaking enterprises in Jan 2020 is 685 Kt (84% to Jan 2019), all is of the Ukrainian origin.
The import share in the total coke delivery in Jan 2020 is 0% against 7.0% in Jan 2019.
The Bought Steel Scrap
In Jan 2020, 184 Kt of steel scrap (80% to Jan 2019) were collected, all were delivered to the Ukrainian consumers. There was no steel scrap export in Jan 2020.

The Natural Gas and Electricity
In Jan 2020, the national steelmaking industry had consumed up to 160 million cubic meters of the natural gas (97% to Jan 2019).
The electricity consuming by Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises in Jan 2020 is up to 940 million kWh (93% to Jan 2019).
