Pig Iron

According to Worldsteel, for 10 month 2019 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 1135.55 Mt of the pig iron, of which 1059.80  Mt by BFs and 75.75 Mt as DRI. This exceeds the analogue period of 2018 (1104.32Mt) on 2.83%.

The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Oct 2019 had produced 675.18 Mt that exceeds the same period of 2018 (640.84 Mt) on 5.36%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production for the period of Jan-Oct 2019 is 59.5%.

Brazil occupied 7^th position (21.77 Mt or 91.2% to Jan-Oct 2018), shifting Germany to 8^th  place (21.75 Mt or 95.8% to same period of 2018).

Positions of other leading countries are same as before.

Ukraine occupies the 10^th position among 40 world pig iron producers (17.07 Mt or 99.9% to 10 months 2018).

Steel

The steel world production for 10 months 2019 is 1541.64 Mt that is on 3.17% higher than for same period of 2018 (1494.23 Mt).

China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 829.22 Mt that exceeds the steel production in China in the same period of 2018 (771.78 Mt) on 7.44%. The share of China in the world steel production is 53.8%.

Positions of other leading countries are same as before.

Among 62 world steelmaking countries, Ukraine occupies the 13^th position (17.96 Mt or 102.32% to Jan-Oct 2018).
