Pig Iron

According to Worldsteel, for 9 month 2019 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 1027.24 Mt of the pig iron, of which 958.91  Mt by BFs and 68.33 Mt as DRI. This exceeds the analogue period of 2018 (992.50Mt) on 3.50%.

The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Sept 2019 had produced 612.03 Mt that exceeds the same period of 2018 (575.69 Mt) on 6.31%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production for the period of Jan-Sept 2019 is 59.6%.

Germany occupied 7^th position (19.66 Mt or 95.97% to Jan-Sept 2018), shifting Brazil to 8^th  place (19.65 Mt or 92.2% to same period of 2018).

Positions of other leading countries are same as before.

Ukraine occupies the 10^th position among 40 world pig iron producers (15.48 Mt or 101.14% to 9 months 2018).

Steel

The steel world production for 9 months 2019 is 1391.23 Mt that is on 3.86% higher than for same period of 2018 (1339.47 Mt).

China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 747.82 Mt that exceeds the steel production in China in the same period of 2018 (690.15 Mt) on 8.36%. The share of China in the world steel production is 53.8%.

Positions of other leading countries are same as before.

Among 62 world steelmaking countries, Ukraine occupies the 13^th position as before (16.40 Mt or 104.02% to Jan-Sept 2018).
