Ukraine in the World Ferrous Production in Jan-Apr 2023
Pig Iron
According to Worldsteel, in Jan-Apr 2023 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 471.10 Mt of the pig iron, of which 434.69 Mt by BFs and 36.41 Mt as DRI. This is 2.34% more than in Jan-Apr 2022 (460.32 Mt).
The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Apr 2023 had produced 297.63 Mt that is more than in Jan-Apr 2022 (281.31 Mt) on 5.80%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-Apr 2023 is 63.2%.
Ukraine (1.75 Mt or 45.97% to Jan-Apr 2022) reaised from 19th to 17th position among 40 world pig iron producers.
The steel world production in Jan-Apr 2023 is 622.74 Mt that is of 0.34% lower than in Jan-Apr 2022 (624.86 Mt).
China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 354.39 Mt that is higher than their steel production of Jan-Apr 2022 (340.43 Mt) on 4.10%. The share of China in the world steel production is 56.9%.
Ukraine (1.75 Mt or 46.00% to Jan-Apr 2022) raised from 28th to 26th position among 64 world steel producers.
