Ukraine in the World Ferrous Production in Jan-Feb 2020
Pig Iron
According to Worldsteel, for two months of 2020 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 221.64 Mt of the pig iron, of which 205.69 Mt by BFs and 15.95 Mt as DRI. This exceeds the analogue period of 2018 (219.92 Mt) on 0.78%.
The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Feb 2020 had produced 132.35 Mt that exceeds the same period of 2019 (128.41 Mt) on 3.06%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production for Jan-Feb 2020 is 59.7%.
Ukraine raised to the 9th position among 40 world pig iron producers (3.36 Mt or 99.3% to Jan-Feb 2019), shifting USA to the 10th position (3.35 Mt or 87.2% to Jan-Feb 2019).
Positions of other leading countries are same as before.

Steel
The steel world production in Jan-Feb of 2020 is 293.08 Mt that is 0.71% more than for Jan-Feb 2019 (291.03 Mt).
China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 154.70 Mt that exceeds the steel production in China in the same period of 2019 (150.09 Mt) on 3.07%. The share of China in the world steel production is 52.8%.
Germany (6.04 Mt or 89.1% to Jan-Feb 2019) raised from the 9th to the 7th position, shifting Turkey (5.87 Mt or 112.7%), that moved to the 8th position, shifting Iran (5.61 Mt or 140.5%) to the 9th position.
Positions of other leading countries are same as before
Among 64 world steelmaking countries, Ukraine occupies the 12th position (3.55 Mt or 100.4% to Jan-Feb 2019).
