Ukraine in the World Ferrous Production in Jan-June 2023
Pig Iron
According to Worldsteel, in Jan-June 2023 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 715.73 Mt of the pig iron, of which 658.78 Mt by BFs and 56.95 Mt as DRI. This is 1.10% more than in Jan-June 2022 (707.95 Mt).
The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-June 2023 had produced 451.56 Mt that is more than in Jan-June 2022 (439.69 Mt) on 2.70%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-June 2023 is 63.1%.
Ukraine (2.84 Mt or 62.51% to Jan-June 2022) remains on 17th position among 40 world pig iron producers.
Steel
The steel world production in Jan-June 2023 is 943.90 Mt that is of 1.13% lower than in Jan-June 2022 (954.73 Mt).
China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 535.64 Mt that is higher than their steel production of Jan-June 2022 (528.77 Mt) on 1.30%. The share of China in the world steel production is 56.8%.
Ukraine (2.83 Mt or 56.35% to Jan-June 2022) remains on 25th position among 64 world steel producers.
