Ukraine in the World Ferrous Production in Jan-Nov 2023
Pig Iron
According to Worldsteel, in Jan-Nov 2023 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 1300.46 Mt of the pig iron, of which 1191.04 Mt by BFs and 109.42 Mt as DRI. This is 1.66% more than in Jan-Nov 2022 (1279.28 Mt).
The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Nov 2023 had produced 810.31 Mt that is more than in Jan-Nov 2022 (795.98 Mt) on 1.80%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-Nov 2023 is 62.3%.
Ukraine (5.45 Mt or 88.66% to Jan-Nov 2022) remains on 16th position among 40 world pig iron producers.
Steel
The steel world production in Jan-Nov 2023 is 1715.12 Mt that is of 0.53% more than in Jan-Nov 2022 (1706.03 Mt).
China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 952.14 Mt that is higher than their steel production of Jan-Nov 2022 (938.07 Mt) on 1.50%. The share of China in the world steel production is 55.5%.
Ukraine (5.71 Mt or 92.7% to Jan-Nov 2022) raised from 24th to 23rd position among 71 world steel producers.
