Pig Iron

According to Worldsteel, in Jan-Oct 2021 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 1202.60 Mt of the pig iron, of which 1115.67 Mt by BFs and 86.93 Mt as DRI. This is 2.51% higher to Jan-Oct 2020 (1173.17 Mt).

The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Oct 2021 had produced 734.07 Mt that is less than in Jan-Oct 2020 (758.34 Mt) on 1.29%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-Oct 2021 is 61.0%.

Ukraine (17.72 Mt or 105.0% to Jan-Oct 2020) occupies the 10^th position among 38 world pig iron producers.

Steel

The steel world production in Jan-Oct 2021 is 1607.14 Mt that is of 5.87% higher than in Jan-Oct 2020 (1518.06 Mt).

China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 877.05 Mt that is less than their steel production of Jan-Oct 2020 (883.23 Mt) on 0.7%. The share of China in the world steel production is 54.6%.

Ukraine (17.90 Mt or 105.5% to Jan-Oct 2020) occupies 14^th position among 64 world steel producers.
