Pig Iron

According to Worldsteel, in Jan-Oct 2025 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 1153.15 Mt of the pig iron, of which 1046.41 Mt by BFs and 106.74 Mt as DRI. This is 1.31% less than in Jan-Oct 2024 (1168.41 Mt).

The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Oct 2025 had produced 711.37 Mt that is lower than in Jan-Oct 2024 (724.41 Mt) on 1.80%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-Oct 2025 is 61.7%.

Ukraine (6.48 Mt or 108.40% to Jan-Oct 2024) remains on 13^th position among 40 world pig iron producers.

Steel

The steel world production in Jan-Oct 2025 is 1517.59 Mt that is of 2.05% less than in Jan-Oct 2024 (1549.41 Mt).

China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 817.87 Mt that is lower than their steel production of Jan-Oct 2024 (851.06 Mt) on 3.90%. The share of China in the world steel production is 53.9%.

Ukraine (6.17 MT or 95.13% to Jan-Oct 2024) remains on 22^nd position among 71 world steel producers.
