Ukraine in the World Ferrous Production in January 2021
Pig Iron
According to Worldsteel, in January 2010 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 119.96 Mt of the pig iron, of which 112.14 Mt by BFs and 7.82 Mt as DRI. This is 4.76% higher to January 2020 (114.51 Mt).
The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in January 2021 had produced 73.21 Mt that exceeds January 2020 (67.97 Mt) on 7.72%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in January 2021 is 61.0%.
Ukraine (1.82 Mt or 105.2% to January 2021) occupies the 10th position among 38 pig iron producers.
Steel
The steel world production in January 2020 is 162.92 Mt that is of 4.76% higher than in January 2020 (155.52 Mt).
China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 90.24 Mt that exceeds their steel production of January 2020 (84.49 Mt) on 6.81%. The share of China in the world steel production is 55.4%.
Ukraine (1.84 Mt or 99.8% to January 2020) occupies 12th position among 62 world steel producers.
