Metal Products Production and Consumption in Ukraine in Jan-Dec 2025
According to Association UKRMETALURGPROM, in Jan-Dec of 2025 Ukrainian steelmakers had produced 6521 Kt of metal products (104.81% to the same period of 2024), of which according to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, it was exported 4123 Kt or 63.2%. For the same period of 2024, the share of export was 67.0% (4170 Kt with the total metal products production up to 6222 Kt).
The semi-products’ share in the total export in Jan-Dec 2025 was 34.25% that is significantly lower to Jan-Dec 2024 (46.04%). The share of flat products in Jan-Dec 2025 is higher significantly to the same period of 2024 (44.09% and 39.23% respectively). The share of long products in Jan-Dec 2025 is higher noticeably to the same period of 2024 (21.66% in 2025 and 14.72% in 2024).
The peculiarity of the metal products import structure in Jan-Dec 2025, as well as earlier, is a significant domination of flat products over long products (67.88% and 22.00% respectively); in Jan-Dec 2024, the domination of flat products over long products was significant as well (79.61% and 18.83% respectively).
The total domestic demand for metal products in Jan-Dec 2025 is 4001.6 Kt, of which 1603.6 Kt or 40.07% had been imported. For the same period of 2024, the domestic consumption was 3287.4 Kt of which 1235.4 Kt or 37.58% were imported. Therefore, in Jan-Dec 2025 the domestic demand for metal products had increased on 21.73% comparatively to the same period of 2024, and the import component share had raised on 2.49%.
Main markets for the Ukrainian steel products, according to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, in Jan-Dec 2025 are EU-27 (82.0%), other Europe (8.5%) and CIS (5.3%).
Among main steel importers in Jan-Dec 2025, the first position belongs to other Europe (49.4%), second to Asia (22.8%), third – to EU-27 (22.1%).
