The Results of the Mining & Metallurgical Complex of Ukraine Activity in 2019
In 2019, mining and steelmaking enterprises of Ukraine produced:
- Iron Ore Concentrate – 63.08 Mt (104.6% to 2018);
- Agglomerate – 30.91 Mt (97.6%);
- Pellets – 20.76 Mt (97.2%);
- Coke – 10.06 Mt (92.9%);
- Pig Iron – 20.06 Mt (97.6%);
- Steel – 20.85 Mt (98.8%);
- Finished Products – 18.20 Mt (100.6%);
- Pipes&Tubes – 1.005 Mt (91.2%).
As of 15 January 2020, the following main production facilities are in operation: 16 of 21 Blast Furnaces, 8 of 9 OHFs, 11 of 16 BOFs, 5 of 15 EAFs and 15 of 15 concast machines.

The Provision of Enterprises with Main Raw and Energy Resources
Iron Ore Raw Materials (IORM)
In 2019, enterprises were supplied with 27.0 Mt of IORM (99% to 2018).
The IORM export 2019 was around 40.226 Mt (109% to 2018).
Coking Coals
In 2019, Ukrainian coking plants received 13.92 Mt of coking coals (96% to 2018), of which:
- 50 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (130% to 2018);
- 43 of imported (88% to the same period of 2018).
The import share in the total coking coals delivery in 2019 is 74.9% against 82.0% in 2018
The Metallurgical Coke
The total coke delivery to steelmaking enterprises in 2019 is 8.82 Mt (93% to 2018), of which:
- 43 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (91% to 2018);
- 39 Mt of imported (123% to 2018).
The import share in the total coke delivery in 2019 is 4.4% against 3.3% in 2018
The Bought Steel Scrap
In 2019, of collected 3052 Kt of steel scrap (830% to 2018), Ukrainian consumers were supplied with 3011 Kt (90% to 2018), and 41 Kt were exported (13% to 2018).

The Natural Gas and Electricity
In 2019, the national steelmaking industry had consumed up to 1.8 billion cubic meters of the natural gas (98% to 2018).
The electricity consuming by Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises in 2019 is up to 11.2 billion kWh (95% to 2018).
