Ukraine in the World Ferrous Production in Jan-Apr 2025
Pig Iron
According to Worldsteel, in Jan-Apr 2025 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 463.59 Mt of the pig iron, of which 422.57 Mt by BFs and 41.02 Mt as DRI. This is 0.08% more than in Jan-Apr 2024 (463.22 Mt).
The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Apr 2025 had produced 288.85 Mt that is higher than in Jan-Apr 2024 (286.56 Mt) on 0.80%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-Apr 2024 is 62.3%.
Ukraine (2.36 Mt or 108.10% to Jan-Apr 2024) remains on 14th position among 40 world pig iron producers.
Steel
The steel world production in Jan-Apr 2025 is 623.38 Mt that is of 0.36% less than in Jan-Apr 2024 (626.66 Mt).
China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 345.35 Mt that is higher than their steel production of Jan-Apr 2024 (343.97 Mt) on 0.40%. The share of China in the world steel production is 55.3%.
Ukraine (2.43 or 100.99% to Jan-Apr 2024) raised up from 23rd to 21st position among 71 world steel producers.
