Pig Iron

According to Worldsteel, in Jan-Feb 2010 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 234.46 Mt of the pig iron, of which 219.15 Mt by BFs and 15.831 Mt as DRI. This is 3.57% higher to Jan-Feb 2020 (226.38 Mt).

The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Feb 2021 had produced 144.75 Mt that exceeds Jan-Feb 2020 (136.04 Mt) on 6.40%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-Feb 2021 is 61.7%.

Ukraine (3.51 Mt or 104.5% to Jan-Feb 2021) occupies the 10^th position among 38 pig iron producers.

Steel

The steel world production in Jan-Feb 2021 is 314.99 Mt that is of 6.64% higher than in Jan-Feb 2020 (295.38 Mt).

China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 174.99 Mt that exceeds their steel production of Jan-Feb 2020 (155.00 Mt) on 12.90%. The share of China in the world steel production is 55.6%.

Ukraine (3.52 Mt or 98.9% to Jan-Feb 2020) occupies 12^th position among 62 world steel producers.
