Ukraine in the World Ferrous Production in Jan-July 2023
Pig Iron
According to Worldsteel, in Jan-July 2023 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 838.42 Mt of the pig iron, of which 771.24 Mt by BFs and 67.18 Mt as DRI. This is 1.90% more than in Jan-July 2022 (822.78 Mt).
The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-July 2023 had produced 528.92 Mt that is more than in Jan-July 2022 (511.03 Mt) on 3.50%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-July 2023 is 63.1%.
Ukraine (3.37 Mt or 70.07% to Jan-July 2022) raised to 16th position from 17th among 40 world pig iron producers.
Steel
The steel world production in Jan-July 2023 is 1103.20 Mt that is of 0.12% lower than in Jan-July 2022 (1104.58 Mt).
China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 626.51 Mt that is higher than their steel production of Jan-July 2022 (611.23 Mt) on 2.50%. The share of China in the world steel production is 56.8%.
Ukraine (3.43 Mt or 71.16% to Jan-July 2022) remains on 25th position among 64 world steel producers.
