Pig Iron

According to Worldsteel, for 6 month 2019 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 681.7 Mt of the pig iron, of which 637.1 Mt by BFs and 44.6 Mt as DRI. This exceeds the analogue period of 2018 (651.40 Mt) on 4.67%.

The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-June 2019 had produced 404.21 Mt that exceeds the same period of 2018 (374.79 Mt) on 7.85%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production for the period of Jan-June 2019 is 59.3%.

Positions of other leading countries are same as before.

Ukraine occupies the 10^th position among 40 world pig iron producers (10.24 Mt or 100.98% to 6 months 2018).

Steel

The steel world production for 6 months 2019 is 925.01 Mt that is on 4.87% more than for same period of 2018 (882.04 Mt).

China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 492.17 Mt that exceeds the steel production in China in the same period of 2018 (447.83 Mt) on 9.90%. The share of China in the world steel production is 53.2%.

Other leading countries remained on their usual positions.

Among 62 world steelmaking countries, Ukraine occupies the 13^th position as before (10.93 Mt or 105.3 to Jan-June 2018).
