Ukraine in the World Ferrous Production in Jan-July 2024
Pig Iron
According to Worldsteel, in Jan-July 2024 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 824.71 Mt of the pig iron, of which 752.27 Mt by BFs and 72.44 Mt as DRI. This is 1.78% less than in Jan-July 2023 (839.69 Mt).
The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-July 2024 had produced 509.68 Mt that is lower than in Jan-July 2023 (529.26 Mt) on 3.70%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-July 2024 is 61.8%.
Ukraine (4.09 Mt or 121.18% to Jan-July 2023) remains on 13th position among 40 world pig iron producers.
Steel
The steel world production in Jan-July 2024 is 1107.24 Mt that is of 0.71% less than in Jan-July 2023 (1115.17 Mt).
China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 613.72 Mt that is less than their steel production of Jan-July 2023 (627.53 Mt) on 2.20%. The share of China in the world steel production is 55.4%.
Ukraine (4.58 Mt or 133.61% to Jan-July 2023) remains on 21st position among 71 world steel producers.
