Ukraine in the World Ferrous Production in Jan-Sept 2023
Pig Iron
According to Worldsteel, in Jan-Sept 2023 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 1074.41 Mt of the pig iron, of which 986.67 Mt by BFs and 87.74 Mt as DRI. This is 1.90% more than in Jan-Sept 2022 (1054.40 Mt).
The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Sept 2023 had produced 675.16 Mt that is more than in Jan-Sept 2022 (656.77 Mt) on 2.80%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-Sept 2023 is 62.8%.
Ukraine (4.39 Mt or 80.48% to Jan-Sept 2022) occupies 16th position among 40 world pig iron producers.
Steel
The steel world production in Jan-Sept 2023 is 1406.38 Mt that is of 0.08% more than in Jan-Sept 2022 (1405.27 Mt).
China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 795.07 Mt that is higher than their steel production of Jan-Sept 2022 (781.78 Mt) on 1.70%. The share of China in the world steel production is 56.5%.
Ukraine (4.59 Mt or 83.07% to Jan-Sept 2022) occupies 24th position among 64 world steel producers.
