Ukraine in the World Ferrous Production in Jan-Sept 2024
Pig Iron
According to Worldsteel, in Jan-Sept 2024 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 1046.82 Mt of the pig iron, of which 954.48 Mt by BFs and 92.34 Mt as DRI. This is 2.70% less than in Jan-Sept 2023 (1075.83 Mt).
The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Sept 2024 had produced 644.43 Mt that is lower than in Jan-Sept 2023 (675.50 Mt) on 4.60%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-Sept 2024 is 61.6%.
Ukraine (5.36 Mt or 121.90% to Jan-Sept 2023) remains on 13th position among 40 world pig iron producers.
Steel
The steel world production in Jan-Sept 2024 is 1394.15 Mt that is of 1.92% less than in Jan-Sept 2023 (1421.49 Mt).
China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 768.48 Mt that is less than their steel production of Jan-Sept 2023 (797.18 Mt) on 3.60%. The share of China in the world steel production is 55.1%.
Ukraine (5.88 Mt or 128.17% to Jan-Sept 2023) remains on 20th position among 71 world steel producers.
