Pig Iron

According to Worldsteel, in Jan-Nov 2025 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 1260.76 Mt of the pig iron, of which 1142.74 Mt by BFs and 118.02 Mt as DRI. This is 1.41% less than in Jan-Nov 2024 (1279.34 Mt).

The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Nov 2025 had produced 774.05 Mt that is lower than in Jan-Nov 2024 (792.27 Mt) on 2.30%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-Nov 2025 is 61.4%.

Ukraine (7.19 Mt or 110.18% to Jan-Nov 2024) remains on 13^th position among 40 world pig iron producers.

Steel

The steel world production in Jan-Nov 2025 is 1662.22 Mt that is of 1.97% less than in Jan-Nov 2024 (1695.67 Mt).

China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 891.67 Mt that is lower than their steel production of Jan-Nov 2024 (928.82 Mt) on 4.00%. The share of China in the world steel production is 53.6%.

Ukraine (6.81 MT or 96.93% to Jan-Nov 2024) raised from 22^nd to 21^st position among 71 world steel producers.
