Ukraine in the World Ferrous Production in Jan-Oct 2023
Pig Iron
According to Worldsteel, in Jan-Oct 2023 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 1189.79 Mt of the pig iron, of which 1091.06 Mt by BFs and 98.73 Mt as DRI. This is 1.81% more than in Jan-Oct 2022 (1168.67 Mt).
The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Oct 2023 had produced 744.75 Mt that is more than in Jan-Oct 2022 (728.01 Mt) on 2.30%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-Oct 2023 is 62.6%.
Ukraine (4.91 Mt or 84.44% to Jan-Oct 2022) remains on 16th position among 40 world pig iron producers.
Steel
The steel world production in Jan-Oct 2023 is 1567.33 Mt that is of 0.15% more than in Jan-Oct 2022 (1564.96 Mt).
China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 874.70 Mt that is higher than their steel production of Jan-Oct 2022 (863.62 Mt) on 1.40%. The share of China in the world steel production is 55.8%.
Ukraine (5.16 Mt or 88.32% to Jan-Oct 2022) remains on 24th position among 71 world steel producers.
