Results of the Ukrainian Mining&Metallurgical Complex Activity: July and 7 months 2019

MMC Consolidated Indicators for July and 7 months 2019
According to clarified data of the balance meeting in Association UKRMETALURGPROM, the July production was as follows:
— Pig Iron – 1.65 Mt (108% to June 2019 production);
— Steel – 1.78 Mt (108%);
— Finished Products – 1.51 Mt (101%).
For 7 months 2019 were produced:
- Iron Ore Concentrate – 36.92 Mt (105% to the same period of 2018);
- Agglomerate – 18.42 Mt (102%);
- Pellets – 12.77 Mt (102%);
- Coke – 5.99 Mt (95%);
- Pig Iron – 11.89 Mt (99.8%);
- Steel – 12.72 Mt (104%);
- Finished Products – 11.0 Mt (102%);
- Pipes&Tubes – 0.67 Mt (103%).
As of 13 August 2019, the following main production facilities are in operation: 17 of 21 Blast Furnaces, 8 of 9 OHFs, 14 of 16 BOFs, 5 of 15 EAFs and 15 of 15 concast machines.
It is supposed to produce in September 2019: of Pig Iron – up to 1.75 Mt, of Steel – 1.85 Mt, of Finished Products – 1.65 Mt
The Provision of Enterprises with Main Raw and Energy Resources in July and 7 months 2019
Iron Ore Raw Materials (IORM)
In July 2019 Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises received up to 2.4 Mt of IORM (118% to June 2019).
There was no IORM import in July.
For 7 months 2019 enterprises were supplied with 16.74 Mt of IORM (all is of the Ukrainian origin, 94% to the same period of 2018).
The IORM export in July 2019 was around 3.5 Mt (102% to June 2019), and for 7 months 2019 – 24.0 Mt (110% to the same period of 2018).
Coking Coals
In July 2019 Ukrainian coking plants had received 1.18 Mt of coking coals (122% to June 2019), of which:
- 40 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (133% to June 2019);
- 78 Mt of imported (117% to June 2019).
In total, for 7 months 2019 coking plants received 8.28 Mt of coking coals (98% to the same period of 2018), of which:
- 83 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (117% to the same period of 2018);
- 45 of imported (94% to the same period of 2018).
The import share in the total coking coals delivery for 7 months 2019 is 77.9% against 81.4% in the same period of 2018
The Metallurgical Coke
In July 2019 Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises were supplied with 710 Kt of the coke (106% to June 2019), of which:
- 680 Kt of the Ukrainian origin (103% to June 2019);
- 30 Kt of imported (300% to June 2019).
The total coke delivery to steelmaking enterprises for 7 months 2019 is 5.41 Mt (96% to the same period 2018), of which:
- 07 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (95% to the same period 2018);
- 34 Mt of imported (134% to the same period 2018).
The import share in the total coke delivery for 7 months 2019 is 6.3% against 4.6% in the same period of 2018
The Bought Steel Scrap
In July 2019 the scrap collecting entities had collected 192 Kt of a steel scrap (59% to June 2019). The whole volume was delivered to Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises. There was no scrap export in July.
For 7 months 2019, of collected 1918 Kt of steel scrap (88% to the same period 2018), Ukrainian consumers were supplied with 1881 Kt (99% to the same period of 2018), and 37 Kt were exported (13% to the same period of 2018).
The Natural Gas and Electricity
In July 2019 Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises had consumed up to 220 million cubic meters of the natural gas (147% to June 2019).
In total for 7 months 2019 the national steelmaking industry had consumed up to 1 110 million cubic meters of the natural gas (103% to the same period of 2018).
The electricity consuming by Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises in July 2019 is up to 950 million kWh (100% to June 2019), and for 7 months 2019 is up to 6.75 billion kWh (98% to the same period 2018).
