Results of the Ukrainian Mining&Metallurgical Complex Activity: January 2019

MMC Consolidated Indicators for January 2019
According to clarified data of the balance meeting in Association UKRMETALURGPROM, the January production was as follows:
— Pig Iron – 1.79 Mt (98% to December 2018 and 90% to January 2018 production);
— Steel – 1.85 Mt (98% and 95%);
— Finished Products – 1.61 Mt (106% and 95%).
For the first month 2019 were produced:
- Iron Ore Concentrate – 5.28 Mt (98% to January 2018);
- Agglomerate – 2.73 Mt (94%);
- Pellets – 1.89 Mt (97%);
- Coke – .90 Mt (94%);
- Pipes&Tubes – 0.09 Mt (105%).
As of 13 February 2019, the following main production facilities are in operation: 19 of 21 Blast Furnaces, 8 of 9 OHFs, 15 of 16 BOFs, 6 of 15 EAFs and 15 of 15 concast machines.
It is supposed to produce in March 2019: of Pig Iron – up to 1.8 Mt, of Steel – 1.9 Mt, of Finished Products – 1.6 Mt
The Provision of Enterprises with Main Raw and Energy Resources in January 2019
Iron Ore Raw Materials (IORM)
In January 2019 Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises received up to 2.7 Mt of IORM (108% to December 2018 and 97% to January 2018).
There was no IORM import in January.
The IORM export in January 2019 was around 3.0 Mt (102% to December 2018 and 102% to January 2018).
Coking Coals
In January 2019 Ukrainian coking plants had received 1.26 Mt of coking coals (97% to December 2018 and 107% to January 2018), of which:
- 25 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (92% and 91%);
- 01 Mt of imported (98% and 111%).
The import share in the total coking coals delivery in January 2019 is 80.1% against 79.2% in Dcember 2018 and 76.8 in January 2018.
The Metallurgical Coke
In January 2019 Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises were supplied with 814 Kt of the coke (100% to December 2018 and 89% to January 2019), of which:
- 755 Kt of the Ukrainian origin (96% and 91%);
- 59 Kt of imported (211% and 69%).
The import share in the total coke delivery in January 2019 is 7.3%.
The Bought Steel Scrap
In January 2019 the scrap collecting entities had collected 230 Kt of a steel scrap (73% to December 2018 and 83% to January 2018), of which the Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises had received 227 Kt as a Bought Scrap (73% and 93%), and 3 Kt were exported (38% and 9%).
The Natural Gas and Electricity
In January 2019 Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises had consumed up to 165 million cubic meters of the natural gas (97% to December 2018 and 92% to January 2018).
The electricity consuming by Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises in January 2019 is up to 910 million kWh (99% to December 2018 and 94% to January 2018).
