Pig Iron
According to Worldsteel, in Jan-Aug 2021 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 981.96 Mt of the pig iron, of which 911.87 Mt by BFs and 70.09 Mt as DRI. This is 5.47% higher to Jan-Aug 2020 (931.02 Mt).
The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Aug 2021 had produced 605.38 Mt that exceeds Jan-Aug 2020 (601.84 Mt) on 0.59%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-Aug 2021 is 61.7%.
Ukraine (14.48 Mt or 106.8% to Jan-Aug 2020) occupies the 10th position among 38 world pig iron producers.

Steel
The steel world production in Jan-Aug 2021 is 1321.93 Mt that is of 10.62% higher than in Jan-Aug 2020 (1195.00 Mt).
China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 733.02 Mt that exceeds their steel production of Jan-Aug 2020 (696.24 Mt) on 5.28%. The share of China in the world steel production is 55.5%.
Ukraine (14.59 Mt or 106.6% to Jan-Aug 2020) occupies 14th position among 64 world steel producers.
