Ukraine in the World Ferrous Production in Jan-Feb 2023
Pig Iron
According to Worldsteel, in Jan-Feb 2023 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 228.82 Mt of the pig iron, of which 211.19 Mt by BFs and 17.63 Mt as DRI. This is 2.43% more than in Jan-Feb 2022 (223.39 Mt).
The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Feb 2023 had produced 144.26 Mt that is more than in Jan-Feb 2022 (134.45 Mt) on 7.30%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-Feb 2023 is 63.0%.
Ukraine (0.74 Mt or 22.39% to Jan-Feb 2022) raised from 19th to 18th position among 40 world pig iron producers.
Steel
The steel world production in Jan-Feb 2023 is 297.79 Mt that is of 0.79% lower than in Jan-Feb 2022 (300.18 Mt).
China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 168.70 Mt that is higher than their steel production of Jan-Feb 2022 (259.75 Mt) on 5.60%. The share of China in the world steel production is 56.7%.
Ukraine (0.71 Mt or 20.73% to Jan-Feb 2022) raised from 35th to 31st position among 64 world steel producers.
