Ukraine in the World Ferrous Production in Jan-Nov 2020

Pig Iron
According to Worldsteel, for 11 months of 2020 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 1263.01 Mt of the pig iron, of which 1184.64 Mt by BFs and 78.37 Mt as DRI. This is 1.53% lower to the same period of 2019 (1282.66 Mt).
The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Nov 2020 had produced 812.90 Mt that exceeds the same period of 2019 (780.36 Mt) on 4.17%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production for Jan-Nov 2020 is 64.4%.
Positions of other leading countries are same as before.
Ukraine (18.59 Mt or 100.7% to Jan-Nov 2019) occupies the 9th position among 40 pig iron producers.
The decrease of the global pig iron production is stipulated, first of all, by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Steel
The steel world production in Jan-Nov 2020 is 1670.40 Mt that is of 1.27% lower than for Jan-Nov 2019 (1691.85 Mt).
China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 961.16 Mt that exceeds their steel production of the same period of 2019 (911.04 Mt) on 5.50%. The share of China in the world steel production is 57.5%.
Vietnam (26.61 Mt or 143.6% to Jan-Nov 2019) moved up to 10h position, shifting Iran (26.37 Mt or 112.8%) to 11th position.
Positions of other leading countries are same as before.
Ukraine (18.71 Mt or 97.0% to Jan-Nov 2019) occupies 13th position among 62 world steel producers.
