According to UKRMETALURGPROM data, in Jan-Dec 2020, steelmaking enterprises of Ukraine produced:
— Agglomerate – 31.91 Mt (103.3% to the same period of 2019);
— Coke – 9.67 Mt (96.1%);
— Pig Iron – 20.42 Mt (101.8%);
— Steel – 20.62 Mt (98.9%);
— Finished Products – 18.43 Mt (101.2%);
— Pipes&Tubes – 0.84 Mt (83.8%).

As of 15 January 2010, the following main production facilities are in operation: 17 of 21 Blast Furnaces, 7 of 8 OHFs, 12 of 16 BOFs, 4 of 15 EAFs and 16 of 17 concast machines.

The Provision of Enterprises with Main Raw and Energy Resources

Iron Ore Raw Materials (IORM)
The provision of steelmaking enterprises with IORM in Jan-Dec 2020 was on the level matching the steelmakers’ demands. There was no import of IORM within this period.
The IORM export in Jan-Dec 2020 was around 46.23 Mt (116% to Jan-Dec 2019).

Coking Coals
For 12 months 2020, Ukrainian coking plants received 13.29 Mt of coking coals (96.1% to the same period of 2019), of which:
— 3.62 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (103.5% to the same period of 2019);
— 9.67 Mt of imported (93.6% to the same period of 2019).
The import share in the total coking coals delivery in Jan-Dec 2020 is 72.8% against 74.7% in Jan-Dec 2019.

The Metallurgical Coke
The total coke delivery to steelmaking enterprises in Jan-Dec 2020 is 8.18 Mt (92.7% to the same period of 2019), of which:
— 8.03 Mt of the Ukrainian origin (95.2% to the same period of 2019);
— 0.15 Mt of imported (38.6% to the same period of 2019).
The import share in the total coke delivery for 12 months 2020 is 1.83% against 4.41% in Jan-Dec 2019.

The Bought Steel Scrap
For 12 months 2020, 2929 Kt of steel scrap (96.0% to Jan-Dec 2019) were collected, of which 2893 Kt (96.1% to the same period of 2019) had been delivered to the Ukrainian consumers. It was exported 36 Kt of steel scrap in Jan-Dec 2020 (85.1% to the same period of 2019).

The Natural Gas and Electricity
For 12 months 2020, the national steelmaking industry had consumed up to 1.88 billion cubic meters of the natural gas (104.4% to the same period of 2019).
The electricity consuming by Ukrainian steelmaking enterprises in Jan-Dec 2020 is up to 11.1 billion kWh (99.4% to the same period of 2019).
