Pig Iron

According to Worldsteel, in Jan-Apr 2010 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 488.58 Mt of the pig iron, of which 458.15 Mt by BFs and 30.43 Mt as DRI. This is 8.60% higher to Jan-March 2020 (339.01 Mt).

The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Apr 2021 had produced 306.64 Mt that exceeds Jan-Apr 2020 (282.10 Mt) on 8.70%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-Apr 2021 is 62.8%.

Ukraine (7.07 Mt or 109.0% to Jan-Apr 2021) occupies the 10^th position among 38 pig iron producers.

Steel

The steel world production in Jan-Apr 2021 is 662.78 Mt that is of 13.68% higher than in Jan-Apr 2020 (583.04 Mt).

China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 374.56 Mt that exceeds their steel production of Jan-Apr 2020 (323.45 Mt) on 15.60%. The share of China in the world steel production is 56.5%.

Ukraine (7.14 Mt or 107.2% to Jan-Apr 2020) occupies 13^th position among 64 world steel producers.
