Ukraine in the World Ferrous Production in Jan-July 2026
Pig Iron
According to Worldsteel, in Jan-July 2026 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 802.30 Mt of the pig iron, of which 730.81 Mt by BFs and 71.49 Mt as DRI. This is 2.04% less than in Jan-July 2025 (819.02 Mt).
The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-July 2026 had produced 495.77 Mt that is lower than in Jan-July 2025 (511.10 Mt) on 3.00%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-July 2026 is 61.8%.
Ukraine (4.09 Mt or 93.85% to Jan-July 2025) remains on 13th position among 40 world pig iron producers.
Steel
The steel world production in Jan-July 2026 is 1081.20 Mt that is of 0.62% less than in Jan-July 2025 (1089.95 Mt).
China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 577.04 Mt that is lower than their steel production of Jan-July 2025 (595.50 Mt) on 3.10%. The share of China in the world steel production is 53.4%.
Ukraine (4.02 or 94.37% to Jan-July 2025) shifted down from 23rd to 24th position among 70 world steel producers.
