Pig Iron

According to Worldsteel, in Jan-Nov 2022 steelmaking countries of the world had produced 1277.87 Mt of the pig iron, of which 1176.53 Mt by BFs and 101.34 Mt as DRI. This is 2.63% less than in Jan-Nov 2021 (1312.42 Mt).

The first place belongs to China, steelmakers of which in Jan-Nov 2022 had produced 795.06 Mt that is less than in Jan-Nov 2021 (798.25 Mt) on 0.40%. The share of the Chinese pig iron in the world production in Jan-Nov 2022 is 62.2%.

Ukraine (6.14 Mt or 31.61% to Jan-Nov 2021) occupies the 15th position among 40 world pig iron producers.

Steel

The steel world production in Jan-Nov 2022 is 1691.40 Mt that is of 3.72% lower than in Jan-Nov 2021 (1756.80 Mt).

China is a leader of the world steel production as well – Chinese steelmakers had produced 935.11 Mt that is less than their steel production of Jan-Nov 2021 (948.39 Mt) on 1.40%. The share of China in the world steel production is 55.3%.

Ukraine (6.16 Mt or 31.38% to Jan-Nov 2021) occupies 24th position among 64 world steel producers.
